




DSIP (Delta Sleep-Inducing Peptide) is a 9-amino-acid neuropeptide with the sequence Trp-Ala-Gly-Gly-Asp-Ala-Ser-Gly-Glu. It was discovered in 1977 by the Swiss scientists Schoenenberger and Monnier, who isolated it from the blood of rabbits in the deep-sleep phase. DSIP is naturally present in the human brain and takes part in regulating circadian rhythms.
This is a fundamental point that needs to be understood:
Mechanism: DSIP acts on several systems at once — it modulates GABAergic activity, influences serotonin and dopamine transmission, and normalizes the secretion of cortisol (the stress hormone that is often the cause of insomnia). This is not “sedation” but a “tuning” of the neurochemical balance.
Beyond its influence on sleep, studies have revealed a number of additional properties:
Sleep quality directly determines how fast the body recovers. During deep sleep (the delta-wave phase):
DSIP increases precisely this phase, so its effect goes far beyond “just falling asleep.”
DSIP is supplied in lyophilized form and reconstituted with bacteriostatic water. Storage is at 2–8°C. It is injected subcutaneously 30–60 minutes before the desired sleep time. A course usually lasts 10–20 days, after which the normalized sleep rhythm is maintained for several weeks to months.
An important advantage of DSIP over sleeping pills: after the course ends, sleep quality does not worsen (there is no “withdrawal syndrome”). DSIP retunes the system rather than creating dependence.
